“This demonstrates again what great coffee is produced in the region by local growers”, commented Jan Fadelli, ASTCA President, about the results at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show 2016. Three local coffee growers gained not only six silver medals but also five bronze medals.
Most successfull were Jenni and Toni Rogers from High Trees Estate at Dalwood with four silver medals and five bronze medals. A great achievement because over 300 different roasted coffees were entered in the ten classes for the competition. In the “Espresso Blend” class they got two silver medals with two blends, one silver medal in the“Latte 100%” Australian Single Origin” class and one silver medal in the “Plunger” class. They scored five bronze medals in the classes “Espresso Single Origin”, “Latte Blend”, “Latte 100% Australian Single Origin”, “Plunger “ and “Plunger 100% Australian Single origin”.
Jos and Wendy Webber of Kahawa Estate near Tintenbar got a silver medal in the “Plunger 100% Australian Single Origin” class. They achieved the best score in this category.
David and Lindsay Ashton of Ashtons Australian Coffee at Koonorigan also gained a silver medal in the “Plunger 100% Australian Single Origin”. They scored second best in this category.
